For Friends of John Sumpter

Many of us knew John Sumpter, who was the head of Regulatory for Pac West until his premature death from cancer last year.  I knew John from my time on the staff at COMPTEL, and John was one of our board members.  John was patient, funny, brilliant, and always a big supporter of the staff.  I was glad to have had the pleasure of meeting John.  Over time we became friends, and I loved spending time with John whenever he was in town for a meeting, or out at a COMPTEL show somewhere.  John was very proud of his nephew, Tim Kennedy.

Tim Kennedy is a young, talented, and very patriotic mixed martial arts fighter, who currently proudly serves his country as an Army Ranger.  Luke Thomas, another DC area native, posted this link to Support Tim Kennedy on his website today.  Since many of the readers of this blog may remember John fondly, I know they would like the opportunity to help John's nephew.  Basically, even if you don't want to follow the link, all you have to do is to just send an email to GoTimKennedy@gmail.com and register your support for Tim.  Some of his friends are working with the National Guard to encourage the Guard to accept Tim as an elite athlete (he is) and the National Guard wants to know if Tim has a fan base.  Your emails will count as that support.  If you ever think of John, and how you'd really like to call him for a good laugh, or to answer a hard question, please take the time to send a note to help out Tim.  I'm sure it will make John very happy.
